| BCOL4609 leads train 570 southbound up Pemberton Hill at at Aprox 5 mph!! BC RAIL C40-8M and its CN EMD mate are sand blasting up the 2.2% grade with just under 4000 tons at the drawbar. .... Sound of these locomotives in Run 8, could barely be heard over the raging of Narin Falls above the fourth hopper in photo. The head-end of this train is heavy with hoppers full of wood pellets, and a trio of gondolas full of copper concentrate. The concrete retaining wall holds back the slope and keeps the Sea-Sky highway from sliding onto the railroad and into the river.... |
