Golden Hour for the Olympic. More than 17 years since it pulled the Olympic Flame some 3,200 miles across the United States, UP 2002 now finds itself on the point of tonight's LOF67 as it catches the absolute last rays of sunlight while passing through the Simi Valley Amtrak/Metrolink station. Used as the lead locomotive to pull a train of 18 business cars and one, specially built cauldron car, UP 2002 led the special through a total of 11 states before arriving in Salt Lake City, Utah, to deliver the iconic flame to the 2002 Winter Olympic games.
