Remarks & Notes
Former Belt Railway of Chicago GP9 no. 471 still looks sharp after being sold off and ending up switching grain for Gavilon Grain Co. in Kearney, Nebraska. This elevator is a former Peavey facility and it appears that this unit may operate under the the initials PVGX 471. The headlight and handrails indicate GP7 and Phase 1 GP9s, and it appears this unit was rebuilt from a GP7 in June 1958. It would have likely been built in May 1951, making it my age!
