| Former Belt Railway of Chicago GP9 no. 471 still looks sharp after being sold off and ending up switching grain for Gavilon Grain Co. in Kearney, Nebraska. This elevator is a former Peavey facility and it appears that this unit may operate under the the initials PVGX 471. The headlight and handrails indicate GP7 and Phase 1 GP9s, and it appears this unit was rebuilt from a GP7 in June 1958. It would have likely been built in May 1951, making it my age! |
