Remarks & Notes
On the last day of the September 2019 Coast Starlight detours, Amtrak 14 works upgrade into Soledad Canyon as it leads its train through the 332-foot long bore of Tunnel No. 19 and through a private crossing - framed with two, ex-Southern Pacific crossbucks. To the left, the dry riverbed of the Santa Clarita River waits for its next chance to have water flow through it.

Running daily between Seattle and Los Angeles, this train offers running alongside the Pacific Ocean and through the Cascade Mountains. It has been one of Amtrak's long-distance success stories.
