| The last time I saw Southern 1401 was probably in the mid-80s. It's still on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, DC and looks as good as it did 34 years earlier (albeit a bit dusty, and surrounded by a bit more clutter than I remember). In any case, this Southern Railway class Ps-4 4-6-2 Pacific should hopefully be preserved for generations to come, as it has been for the last 50-plus years. |
