Remarks & Notes
Named for vintage railroad photographer Herb Sullivan, a rancher from Placentia, California, who created iconic photographs of trains on this curve in the 1930s and 1940s, and the curve was later named for him. Located just east of Cajon Pass’ Cajon Station, this curve has for decades been the location to photograph trains in Cajon Pass because of its distinctive rock formations created by the San Andreas Fault. On October 12, 2019, a fan trip behind recently restored Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 4014 heads east with a 23-car passenger train.

See beautiful diesel and steam locomotives, including newly restored Big Boy #4014, pulling long trains of yellows cars reminiscent of the days when UP domeliners seemed to go Everywhere West.
