Remarks & Notes
A Big Boy Pointing at Tehachapi. UP 4014 will likely be the first and last "Big Boy" steam locomotive to ever find itself on BNSF's Mojave Subdivision - the tracks that deposit BNSF trains at Mojave before their assault on Tehachapi Pass. Today's rare visit of a 4000 class steam locomotive comes following Union Pacific's need to turn the 23-car passenger train at Barstow before backing into the Amtrak depot. Once all passengers are off-loaded, the train will pull west out of the station before shoving back to Daggett where it will return to home rails on it's way to Yermo.

See beautiful diesel and steam locomotives, including newly restored Big Boy #4014, pulling long trains of yellows cars reminiscent of the days when UP domeliners seemed to go Everywhere West.
