| Former Chicago Great Western NW2s 1025 and 1017 get ready for duty at Oelwein, IA. Oelwein was the hub of Chicago Great Western, and remained an important yard for CNW into the early 1980s. The diesel shop was a major rebuild center for CNW during that time, and even after the rest of the yard was not needed. It became redundant as the UP merger approached and UP does not serve Oelwein any longer. |
