Remarks & Notes
Dead-end tunnel

For some switchbacks, there is so little space available on the hillside that the dead-end tracks had to be dug in the mountain. The Chicla and Cacray Arriba switchbacks were built this way, with quite unique "no-through" tunnels. The sign on the wall reads "Fin de Via" / "End of Track". Not sure if the sign is really needed to warn locomotive engineers that they can't go any further.
