The “Heritage” Units That Wouldn’t Go Away
Eight years after the creation of Conrail, black patched ex-Penn Central still roamed the system, such as this GP38-2 at Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. There was nothing more disappointing than waiting for a train and finding out that one of them was leading when the train came into view.
