In the photo - the passenger terminal of the station New Peterhof. Built in 1857, the station was part of the first railway in Russia (Peterhof).
The exterior of the building in the Gothic style is a small copy of the Catholic Cathedral in the Italian city of Orvieto. The architect of the project is Nikolay Benoit.
Currently, the station building is practically not used; a new passenger pavilion has been built to service suburban trains.
You can admire this beautiful building by passing electricity from the Baltic Station St. Petersburg.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
