Remarks & Notes
The UP MIR Job makes a Saturday appearance with a pair of rebuilt SD40Ns. Five steel coil cars are being shoved down to Olympic Steel off the UP Golden Valley Industrial Lead. The line ends in about a 1/4 mile at I-494. About a mile to west, the Luce Line State Trail (MN DNR) begins and follows the old Minneapolis Industrial Railway right-of-way for 63 miles to Cosmos, MN. The line was abandon by the C&NW in the late 1960's and by mid 1970 all of the track had been removed.
