Remarks & Notes |
"Around the Corner from Westchester Ave"
Amtrak Coca-Cola wrapped ACS-64 606 leads Regional 157 west under the abandoned NYW&B Westchester Ave Station on Amtrak's Hell Gate Line. The locomotive was wrapped to mark the introduction of Coke products being served onboard Amtrak trains. Westchester Ave Station was designed by Cass Gilbert & completed using terra cotta detailing in 1908. Service ceased in 1937, but due to the way the station was constructed, it still remains today, suspended over Amtrak's Hell Gate Line which is small portion of the Northeast Corridor. Can you guess where this photo's title comes from? |
