Remarks & Notes
This loaded ethanol train departed Axtell, Nebraska, on December 20. On December 27, 2019, this unit train was getting close to its destination of Watson, in the Port of Los Angeles area. BNSF locomotives 6979 (an ES44C4), 4683 (Dash 9-44CW), 4516 (Dash 9-44CW), 7530 (ES44DC), with Distributed Power Units 7425 (ES44DC) and 3846 (ET44C4) on the rear, are in full dynamic braking to hold this heavy train back from gravity’s pull as winds through an S-curve while descending the 2.2% grades of southern California’s Cajon Pass.
