Remarks & Notes
The summit of La Veta Pass is at Fir, Colorado, on the former Rio Grande line from Walsenburg to Alamosa, and is being visited by an eastbound passenger train operated by Rail America’s San Luis & Rio Grande on June 12, 2005. Snow still dusts the lofty mountains to the west on this late spring morning.
