The Union Pacific’s transcontinental route west only spends a few miles in far northeast Colorado following the watercourses of the South Platte River and then Lodgepole Creek while going through the town of Julesburg in the process. Track machinery working on on Main 1 is passed by a westbound UP stack train that is about to cross the Colorado state line into Nebraska near milepost 372 west of Julesburg on July 24, 2009.
