| Two EMD GP38-2s navigate Winifrede hollow with 25 coal loads for the CSXT interchange at Chesapeake. After loading the unit train in multiple cuts and delivering to the small Winifrede Yard, a CSXT crew will reassemble the train and depart for Newport News, VA. This short line railroad tradition has existed for more than 130 years, surviving adverse market conditions and overcoming the geographical challenges of rural Appalachian railroading and mining. |
