Remarks & Notes

The engineer on the very dirty SP 9255 enjoys a smoke on his pipe as he and his brakeman wait patiently for helpers to come west from Palm Springs and tie on to the back of their train. After the photo was taken, they invited me up into the cab of each of the five engines in the consist to take photographs.
