Remarks & Notes
Progressive Rail no. 42 is parked in the snow at the connection between Union Pacific and Wisconsin Northern on Chippewa Falls' east side at a location known as Norma in C&NW days. Wis. Northern has used this power for its handling of sand trains from plants on its line between Chippewa Falls and Chetek, WI. PGR 42 is used to hauling heavy tonnage. It was built in October 1978 for Reserve Mining in northern Minnesota as RSMX 1242.
