| This meet is a good demonstration of how the CN was in Iowa in early 2019. CN struggled with the winter months and increased business. That has meant the CN was way short power across their system. In Iowa run thru foreign power was the norm for many months now in 2019. Here we have the daily Waterloo to Kirk Yard freight train meeting a westbound empty ethanol train at Jesup. 5 units and 5 different paint schemes are represented here. Jesup is the 1st siding east of Waterloo on the Dubuque Sub. With the addition of new GE deliveries and warmer weather, the CN is starting to return alot of leased power and the herds of run thru power isn't as common on the scheduled trains. |
