Remarks & Notes
After switching Rousselot in Peabody, MA, BO-1 hustles Westbound through Central Square in Downtown Lynn, MA on their return trip to Boston. Twice a week, this local services the last remaining customer on the Massachusetts North Shore. This section of mainline, known as the "Eastern Route", was originally built in 1838 by the Eastern Railroad and absorbed by the Boston & Maine in 1890. In 1910, the four track mainline was elevated through Lynn to eliminate crossings for eventual electrification to Portland, ME.
