Remarks & Notes
Lancaster & Chester’s daily train to Chester works the Norfolk Southern interchange in Chester, South Carolina. The road had common ownership with Springs Mills, maker of Springmaid textile products, and L&C locomotives and box cars proudly displayed the Springmaid symbol. The water tank in the left distance, which I believe was part of one of the Springs Mills plants that dotted the area, also displays the Springmaid logo.
