| Open Horseshoe-curves are always spectacular photolocations. On Silverzone Pass on the former Western Pacific mainline such a thing exists - the so called Arnold Loop. Since 1982 the line belongs to Union Pacific. Unfortunately the traffic isn't as dense as a photographer would like. We had quite luck on this day: We waited only for half an hour when a Eastbound empty - hauled by AC45CCTE #5426, AC44CWCTE #5726 and AC45CCTE #7389 - was slowly coming down the hill. And beside of that, when the train has left the scenery clouds darkened the sky for the next hours... |
