A charter passenger train dubbed the “Bill Gates Special” cruises through Broomfield on the BNSF’s Front Range Subdivision on September 25, 1998. The train is headed for Denver Union Station, and then west for a trip over the former Rio Grande main line through the Rocky Mountains.
