Remarks & Notes
In the middle of its GP7 purchasing program, the Frisco paused long enough to sample five competitor RS-2's from Alco. Not a good idea. They were repowered by EMD and became GP-7's in effect, if not appearance. All repowering work was done by EMD at La Grange, Illinois, and were numbered 550-554 in 1959-1960. Long-end front operation remained as Alco had built them. It was just too expensive to turn the controls around as well. Photo from my slide collection, no photographer listed on slide.

This album will have all the Frisco pictures I find. My family moved to Ada Oklahoma in 1964 and Frisco was the most active line in Ada. Many of our friends had parents who worked for Frisco Railroad. This will be pictures of anything Frisco.
