Remarks & Notes |
This photo is of the final California Zephyr to pull into Denver's Union Station...at least for a while. It was announced that Amtrak is suspending the Zephyr service due to a crew member contracting the Covid19 virus and the need to quarantine the Zephyr crew. Sharp eyed foamers will notice something odd about the car configuration as AMTK 158 backs through the BNSF yard under stormy skies. The baggage car which usually sits between the coaches and the engines was actually the last car on this train. Some are speculating that Amtrak may take this opportunity to scale back the Chicago to Emeryville, CA service and perhaps run every other day. Some say it might get terminated altogether. Lets hope they continue the iconic California Zephyr once the virus craziness subsides. |
