Remarks & Notes
Brielle Draw - This drawbridge was built in 1911 and rehabilitated in 1978 and 2001. It is a Scherzer style rolling-lift bascule bridge and is joined with an approach structure some 1,200 feet long that spans the Manasquan river. The bridge carries one track of NJT’s North Jersey Coast Line connecting the stations of Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach. Due to the poor condition of the bridge trains are restricted to a speed of 30 mph. Here is a train shoving north (railroad east) toward its next stop in Manasquan.
