Due to social distancing measures caused from the Corona Virus Pandemic, Queensland Rail suspended its long distance passenger trains from March 30. The Tilt train Sets are still operating, albeit with less frequency.
Aurizon has a hook and pull contract for the Inlander that previously used 2300 class (GT22LC-2) locomotives, notably 2331D and 2301D. Due to 2301D suffering a severe traction motor failure at the end of 2019, other power has been sourced. On this occasion 2491H had the honours of operating what is likely to be the final Inlander service for the year. With this train carring 5,000 passengers on a yearly basis, it may be questioned if it will return to service at a later date. 30/03/20
