NS 20R is a train that can take Conrail's Lehigh Line or Port Reading Secondary eastward. In this photo, NS 20R was to take the Lehigh Line, but as it was approaching CP Bound Brook, the North Jersey Dispatcher called them and asked the crew if they were qualified on the Port Reading Secondary. They were, and the train was sent via "the back door" as it is sometimes called. NS 1800 (SD70ACC) is the second unit. Being the first SD70ACC rebuilt by NS, it was painted in a special yellow scheme. The leader was rebuilt into AC44C6M NS 4466 in April of 2021.
