In 2007, 125 years of the famous Gotthard line was celebrated. The big festival in Erstfeld and Biasca at the beginning of September 2007 was attended by 50000 people. Part of the program in Erstfeld was the replica of the "Spanisch Brötli Bahn", first railway in Switzerland in 1847. Steamlocomotive D 1/3 # 1 "Limmat" is pulling the vintage cars on the not electrified branch from Erstfeld to the Alp Transit construction site in Amsteg (construction of the Gotthard Base Tunnel). All of the vehicles including the locomotive are replicas built in 1947, for the 100 years celebration of the first swiss railway from Zürich to Baden, the Schweizerische Nordbahn.
