| Last of the Loops. On what appears to be the last day it is running, NS 123 appears on the Southern Loops at High Fill as it begins its run down this side of the mountain and into Old Fort. Norfolk Southern recently announced that it would be closing the line between Asheville and Linwood to through freight traffic, and that the line would only be supporting locals in the future. I've never photographed the loops before, and I'm glad I was able to get out and shoot the loops before the majority of freight traffic disappears. |
