We're getting a opportunity to get a closer look, and a roster shot of premier locomotives that was recently rebuilt. The SD70ACC were rebuilt from the SD70 series that was purchase by Norfolk Southern from the early to mid 1990s. The upgrade range from AC traction motors, electrical cabinet with Mitsubishi electronics, a new main alternator, and additional weight was added to increase the maximum weight to 432,000 pounds when fully loaded with supplies, to the newly designed cab. NS 1846 has apparently been sitting on the house train in Cohutta, GA on the NS Cohutta District (I-Line) since Wednesday. When this image was taken the next day NS 223 would pick up the locomotive, and take it south. A nice treat to have sitting in the small community.
