Remarks & Notes
In spite of the BNSF leader this coal train is a Union Pacific train. My source for this info. was the loader operator. The photo was taken at the flood loader of the Skyline Mine, 16 miles south of Colton, Utah. Elevation here is over 8000'. The procedure here at Skyline is to pull the entire empty train through the loader, cut off the 3 engines on the front of the head end and run them back around the entire train on a side track. Then couple up to what used to be the tail end of the empty train. Following an air test, the new head end power pulls the entire train slowly back through the loader.
