Remarks & Notes
Burlington Northern SD9 6101 ready for work at Belknap Roundhouse June 1970. The 6101 was built in February 1954 as GN 574 and retired in November 1994. This is likely THE first cascade green locomotive to show up in Superior in late May 1970. The 6101 was painted BN green at Dale St. on May 8, 1970. Most of the Superior yard switchers didn't even get BN numbers until late fall 1970 so it's neat to see a full cascade green repaint so early in the Twin Ports.
