Remarks & Notes
A pair of Santa Fe FP45s, recently repainted in the revived red and silver "Superfleet" paint scheme (a modern variation of the road’s classic "Warbonnet" scheme) have a four-car officer special in tow early in the morning at San Bernardino – Note the yard lights are still illuminated. This train is being operated for RailCycle, which is promoting the operation of trash trains from the Los Angeles Basin out to remote Cadiz (pronounced "Kay-deez"), in the Mojave Desert, where a massive garbage dump was being proposed. This train will be departing San Bernardino soon to carry executives and politicians out to the Cadiz site, but this project would never be built. The FP45s were recently renumbered to the 90-class to make way for the new 100-class GP60Ms, two of which will soon be passing by this train on their first run out of Los Angeles.
