Remarks & Notes
Titled "Swimming Hole" it turned into O Winston Link's most iconic steam photo along the Norfolk and Western in the Shenandoah Valley. That photo was taken at night with kids and a family swimming in Hawksbill Creek which occurred in the lower right side under the US 340 highway bridge and railway trestle as a freight steamed overhead. historical-society-of-western-virginia.mybigcommerce.com/... Today, one can shoot high above as seen here as Norfolk Southern 201 meanders through the town of Luray and by the former N&W station in the mid left third of the frame.
