| Burlington Northern SD45 6464 leads an EX GN F45 at Minneapolis MN August 1970. The 6464 was built in January 1969 as CB&Q 523 and is wearing the "Proposed" Burlington Northern merger scheme. The intent with this scheme was to add the word "Northern" under the "Burlington" when merger approval was granted but this became just another pre merger scheme to paint over. The white Hockey Stick stripe was retained for some passenger units on the BN. Unknown Photographer Photo from my Collection. |
