On July 15th, 2020, a Natural Gas powered Waste Management garbage truck struck the underside of the Rochester & Southern's bridge over Mill Street in Leroy, NY, damaging the abutments structure with the physical impact and LNG tank explosion. R&S crews inspected the damaged bridge and a temporary metal support was installed next to the damaged abutment. While the line is not closed, the normally nocturnal RS-1 run from Brooks Ave Yard - Silver Springs will run in daylight until the abutment work is completed. On July 17th, the second edition of the daylight RS-1 emerges from the cut in Silver Springs as it pulls east to enter Norfolk Southern's trackage to interchange cars with BPRR SD40M-2 number 3063 leading.
