Relief train 455 (running on sight before train 455) from Grindelwald Grund to Kleine Scheidegg below Salzegg, with the Schwarzhoren on the left and the Wetterhorn on the right. Cogwheel railcar BDhe 4/4 # 114 from 1963 is pushing cab car Bt # 266 from 1962 up the mountain. The passengers all wear masks, which is mandatory in public transport in Switzerland since july 6th. The Wengernalpbahn was inaugurated in 1893, has a gauge of 800 mm (31,5 inch), maximum grade is 25.0 % and power 1500 V DC. There is a line from Grindelwald to the Kleine Scheidegg and on the other side of the mountain from Lauterbrunnen via Wengen to the Kleine Scheidegg. From the Kleine Scheidegg, the Jungfrau Railway goes to the Top of Europe, the Jungfraujoch on 3454 meter a.s.l. The high mast which you can see on the right in front of the Wetterhorn mountain is part of the new ropeway "Eiger Express" Grindelwald-Eigergletscher, which will open in december 2020. The journey from Interlaken to the Jungfraujoch will be shortened by 47 minutes.
