The unit was built for the Canadian National in July 1974 and was purchased by Guilford Rail Systems in 2001. In 2015, the unit was completely rebuilt by NRE in Paducah, KY and returned with a fresh coat of Pan Am Railways "blue dip" scheme with a GATX owned logo on the cab.
