Remarks & Notes
Threading The Flatirons

When David Moffat dreamed of his railroad the task to cut through these ancient spires must have been an unimaginable stressor. Surveying was a Herculean effort in itself. Here the red exposed rocks from the blasting that took place in the construction of the Moffat Road are visible against the weathered face of the Flatirons revealing its beautiful core color. In this frame seen from the popular ridge above tunnel 2 a BNSF daily Provo to Denver hazmat rolls through the cuts and tunnels of the Flatiron Range near Boulder, Colorado and Plainview, Colorado.
