Remarks & Notes
With wash on the line, a suspension footbridge across the creek in the front yard, and coal trains in the back yard, the residence to the extreme right of the photo oozes Appalachia. The train is a northbound Louisville and Nashville empty hopper drag heading back to the mines as it passes north of Woollum, Kentucky. A view of this site on Google Earth shows that the footbridge is gone, the driveway bridge has been modernized, the property has been cleaned up, and the railroad bridge is obscured by trees from this angle.
