Sunrise on the last operable N&W "Mollie". Norfolk & Western M-Class "Mollie" #475 hauls a short, mixed consist at sunrise on Pennsylvania's Strasburg Rail Road, at the beginning of the 2019 "Reunion of Steam" event, featuring the last two operable N&W steam locomotives, including 475 and J-Class #611. The 475 is a 1906 Baldwin product, and is pictured here running in the Fairview section of the railroad she has called home since 1993.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
