On the last full day of summer 2020, Metrolink train 689 passes through CP Maple as it heads to Los Angeles with F125 919 shoving on the rear. SCAX 919 was built by EMD in February 2017, but did not arrive in southern California until nearly two years later, when a BNSF train ferrying it and SCAX 940 arrived in Los Angeles on December 23, 2019. What appears to be some cloud cover over the distant San Gabriel Mountains is smoke from the 112,000-acre, 16-day-old Bobcat Fire. (Orange, California – September 21, 2020)
