| M&E #20 stands guard over the former collection of the New York & Greenwood Lake RR, all of which are now the property of the Operation Toy Train charity.
This collection of rail cars has lingered in Passaic for years. They were the subject of a court case between the NY&GL and the real estate developer who won the railroad's property at an IRS auction.
After being granted ownership of the rail cars, the developer immediately donated the equipment to Operation Toy Train, which plans to reuse some of the cars while finding a home for the others. All of the equipment has already been re-stenciled with "TOYX" reporting marks.
M&E #20 arrived last week with a work train that is being loaded up with track & cross ties. Eventually this former yard will become parkland. |
