Remarks & Notes
Amtrak’s Southwest Chief, has operated as a daily train for nearly 50 years (although not always with that name, as it was originally the Southwest Limited). That ends in a couple of weeks, when trains 3 and 4, along with most of Amtrak’s other long-distance trains, become tri-weekly. It is shameful that Congress, which has oversight of Amtrak, is allowing this to happen, as it will leave small towns with substandard service – towns such as Flagstaff AZ, Gallup NM, La Junta CO, Hutchinson KS, La Plata MO, Fort Madison IA and Galesburg IL, along with many others, which have no or substandard commercial aviation, leaving their citizens to rely upon bus travel (which I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy). Perhaps seeing Amtrak 4, the eastbound Chief, arriving in Fullerton behind P42DCs 148 and 56, as the sun sets is fitting, as the sun will soon be setting on quality long-distance rail travel in this country after October 12, 2020. Good Light, Good Scenery, and a Train

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
Nocturnal Nuances & Lights In The Night! (Between Sunset - Sunrise / Sundown - Sunup!)

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
