Not the most photogenic lighting situation. But a truly historic moment. As part of the sendoff celebration for number 40. All three Nevada Northern steam locomotives 81, 40, 93, are all under steam. It's the first time in 65 years, that three steams have been alive in Ely Nevada. Shortly after this photo, all three steamers blew their whistles in unison for about 30 seconds strait. Truly a historic day in Ely, Nevada. 40 will run it's last trip on Monday, and go down for it's 15 year boiler inspection. It should be down for about two years. The restoration of 81 will be completed this winter and should start running next season.
