Amtrak train number 8, the eastbound Empire Builder, is running over 5 hours late as it hustles through a fall snowstorm in central Minnesota. They're just east of New York Mills and doing their best to make up time on the morning of October 17, 2020. I've been a Minnesotan for over a dozen years, and I've learned to love a lot of things about this beautiful state. I don't think I'll ever get used to snow in October.
