Remarks & Notes
With 92 loads behind this lone GP38-2, making the track speed of 25 MPH can become tricky. The hills aren't big for the state, but are for the middle of Michigan. This makes it tough on this lone motor. However, this is just any other day on the St Louis Sub. For over a decade, the HESR 3868 has been the St Louis Sub as the primary motor. While the 3868 isn't owned by the MMRR, it is borrowed. The MMRR also uses the HESR for Track Maintenance. To the left of the 1st car, is what's left of a spur to the elevator pictured. Under the PM, C&O, and a little CSX, every town along the St Louis Sub had rail service, and a lot of it. Now, most of those customers are nothing shy of a memory. With today's standards, gaining back former customers and even new customers is nothing short of a dream.
