| The quaintness of a late summer's eve is temporarily interrupted by the unmistakable roar of EMD 645s as two six-axle BNSF deuces wearing paint from the company's original public image climb up a short grade out of Princeville, IL with local freight L CHI1051 18A in tow. Maturing stalks of corn crops look on at the 61 car train running from Chicago-Hodgkins as it motors west along the Chillicothe Subdivision and into the setting sun, sights set on its terminus at the classification yard in Galesburg. Following several runs unmolested by other locomotives, this was the pair's final trip together before the two were later separated at the diesel shops upon their arrival at Galesburg for maintenance. |
